Recent work continues to focus on woman's forms. The symbol of the egg and images of fecundity and creativity create new forms. Generational pregnant/egg-like, iconic of birth, rebirth, solidity, and re-growth; the simple forms are solid almost passive, static. Bellies become my metaphor for creativity.
There is a bird-like motion fitting with egg symbols. Elements shift importance, shape gains weight. The figures no longer stand on the floor but perch on furniture, tables and chairs just as I do. They were formed on these tables in my studio. They are organized in conversations reinforcing one another. Repetition enhances the statement.
Experimentation with new materials: foams, construction glues, welded frames, more color, lighter and stronger cements, change my work. I am viscerally involved with the hands-on application of my materials. My art is tactile as well as visual.
My life has changed; my art follows suit.
