A Statement by Marcy B. Freedman For many years, I have described myself as a visual and conceptual artist, because I have been intrigued by the possibility of creating art works that please the eye and tease the brain. Although I have worked in a great variety of media and a profusion of styles, I have consistently been motivated by this dual purpose. For the last five years, I have been engaged with video and performance art. These genres allow me to express my ideas on a wide range of topics and to experiment with challenging forms of presentation. As with my previous creations, my newest works invite viewers to look hard and think even harder.
