TWO New Jewels in Peekskill Open Studios crown!  A home with 6 artist’s studios and a new developer opens property to artists:

A onetime church, then library built circa 1840, is now home to 6 artist’s studios.  You can visit this gorgeous building with the newly renovated lower level at 901 South St.  Larry D’Amico, founder of Peekskill Open Studios 18 years ago, has most of this building as his fabulous art studio.  The artists at this location are: Nancy Abrams, Andrew Barthelmes, Robert Barthelmes, Larry D'Amico, Debra Portnoy, and Sone Tower. Bob and Andy Barthelmes are father and son both showing their work at Bob’s new studio (featured in LoHud news).

A beehive of artistic activity will be found at the 1008 Main St., the Flatz Properties flagship building in Peekskill.  3 floors of this newly renovated circa 1865 building will be predominantly dedicated to artists showing their work. The list of artists participating in this show is quite impressive and still growing.

Live portrait painting, also at the Flatz, will be at street level with storefront window done by artist Christopher Rigney.  Rigney’s idea is to “Democratize” portrait painting has you walk in, sit down, have your portrait painted for free and experience this amazing process.

Transportation!  The GoPeekskill 11 passenger van will stop at Peekskill train station, the Gazebo at Central & N. Division St., the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art - 1701 Main Street, and the Hat Factory – 1000 N. Division St.
