When I  try to compose an artist statement I cringe. This is not only because they are often very difficult  to write, but because I’ve read very few that I actually like. Including my own.  What seems to happen with most artist statements, from my perspective is that they are over the top. So instead, here is a brief history of the past 40 years or so of my trying to be creative.

I grew-up in Scarsdale, NY, attended The School of the Boston Museum of Fine Art  where I majored in photo lithography. Also studied with Knox Martin at the Scarsdale Studio Workshop, attended workshops with Buckminster Fuller and was a VISTA volunteer.  While attending art school, and throughout  the 60s & 70s I was a working Rock/Blues musician.

In the early 70s I was involved with the burgeoning underground video movement in New York City. Displaying works at Global Village, The Kitchen and working with the WNET experimental workshop. I later worked as Manager/Producer for the Media/Graphics/Print Department of Save the Children, as a photojournalist and commercial producer for WTNH 8, New Haven and as a freelance photographer/editor  for News 12 Westchester. Formed my own production company, InHouse Video in 1988.

Although the bulk of my work is in the commercial arena, I still work in the documentary, journalistic and creative video forms as well as still photography and web design.  After 18 years in Connecticut I moved to The Art Lofts  Peekskill in 2002.  Most recently I produced for a syndicated sports magazine show airing in 63 million homes and  won a Telly Award for the project. I have also produced several nationally aired TV commercials and Radio Ads during this time. I produced the 5th Annual Peekskill Jazz and Blues Festival and Fair this past summer bringing an estimated 6000 music lovers to Downtown Peekskill, to date the BIDs most successfully attended event.
